Well I tried the scale pattern stencils I made for the python head and instead of spraying the paint on I sprayed it in a old plastic container and then brushed it on with a old tooth brush. I painted the desert bisque and the carbine sand color. I removed the stencil expecting perfection and found that it looked like shit. the blue marker that I used to make the stencil pattern bleed into the paint and the scales were spaced to fare apart. I smeared the wet paint around with the tooth brush so that I could mix in the blue hues from the marker. Then I sprayed some of the desert bisque in the container and made some markings with the tooth brush. Then I made some with the carbine sand color. I worked with the two colors for awhile. In the fifth picture the paint is still wet, after I paint the whole thing with some gloss clear varnish everything will blend tougher and it will look like shade tree bodyman perfection.
