Well. I was *just* boasting about how I havent seen a cockroach in my home in a few months. And then...well...while sitting cross-legged in my chair...I feel a tickle on my right thigh. Yup. A cockroach. How in the world did he get there so quietly!? Ugh. So then, this reminded me of an article I read awhile ago about the ever-increasing cockroach farm phenomena in Asia. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), insect carcases are a common part of many decocted tea mixtures. Heres a quote from the article, At least five pharmaceutical companies are using cockroaches for traditional Chinese medicine. Research is underway in China (and South Korea) on the use of pulverized cockroaches for treating baldness, AIDS and cancer and as a vitamin supplement.
