Well I went to the City of Gadsden Council meeting. It was something for sure. 1) During the 1 1/2 hour meeting I thought I witnessed Bob Echols die twice. He even appeared to turn blue. Both times he popped back up right in his chair and griped at how long the meeting was taking like an old senile man in the nursing home waiting for something that he keeps forgetting what he asked for. He even tried to end the meeting several times while other council members were talking 2) The non-smoking resolution has been put on hold for a week to revisit the wording of it so call your council member and voice your opinion. 3.) They opened up the meeting with prayer and thanked GOD for the freedoms that we have. With all due respect to the American Cancer Foundation and the few others that spoke in support of the resolution, You have the FREEDOM to open your own non-smoking bar or business in Gadsden. You stated a study that your organization did that implied that the economic impact of a non-smoking bar was 0% and in some cases it was better. My question to you is that if you know that, then why havent any of your supporters opened a non-smoking bar in Gadsden?
