Well, I went to the Devo show last night, but cant say that I saw or, for most of it, heard Devo. Been to The Wiltern before & had great times, but this time it was a cattle call, with nothing but standing room on the floor. Usually wouldnt go to a standing only show, but it WAS Devo & they WERE doing songs from my era as, though Ive seen them dozens or more times, havent seen them since the Pirates Cove days Got a chance for pre-sale tickets through Ticketmaster, but right when they went on sale, not only were meet & greet tickets non-existent, neither were any seating tickets, so grabbed what I could, main floor standing only, got them for $35, though by the end of the day they were going for $100. Get to the theater, stuck in the middle of the floor & at the front of each section were all the 40 year old equivalents of 63 drunken fratboys, one of which shoved his way right in front of us so he was able to stand right in front of 53 Margie. Sound sucked, couldnt even make out what the songs were until the middle of the show. At one point I was able to see a bit of the guys, but except for a tiny glimpse of Mark, Margie wasnt able to see a thing even though we moved 4 times. Been a long time since I left a show with such a bad taste in my mouth,especially as I rarely go to shows anymore & was especially looking forward to this one....Oh well...
