Well, I wimped out, got a room again. Im just north of Ottawa. Ill be crossing into Quebec tomorrow morning. But its been raining for the past week here--so say all the locals. One thing for sure, the ground is soaking wet and its cold. Im at the Rocky Mountain House in Renfrew, Ontario. As I pull into this nice, local motel, a bunch of Harley riders are there--about 15 or 20 of them. They came to meet from around the Province. Do it annually. Meet and have fun, wives included. They see me, we start talking, they notice I sound funny, ehh?! Ask where Im from and where Im going. I tell them Im from Arizona, rode to Florida, Alaska and now working my way across Canada. One guy (Chris--the guy kneeling by his yellow bike with the mini gun exhaust system) says, You should have rode in the Hoka hey! I smiled and said, I did and pulled out my yellow Hoka hey neckerchief from under my coat, still around my neck. They said, Weve never met anyone whos done that. They took my picture like I was some kind of celebrity. Hahaha.. Have to admit, it was fun. They invited me to their party. I went for a short while to be social, they were very nice. Their bikes run about 5K more up here than in the states. Im averaging between $6 and $6.50 per gallon of fuel. A double meat quarter-pounder at MacDonalds is $6 bucks--no meal deal with it. Chriss mini gun exhaust is $550 bucks in the US, he had to pay $1,000 for it up here--and he ordered it from the US. The cost of living here is about 25 to 30 percent higher than in the US--Arizona anyway. I dont know how they do it.
