Well Im glad thats over. Christmas shopping 2014, good riddance. Did a bit the other day but had a few purchases still to make and couldnt come up with an excuse to put them off any longer, so grab number 2 son, jump in the car and off to Riverlink then. We made a couple of purchases and then had a minor flurry of people interactions. Bumped into Trish (last seen at a screening of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) at the food court and had a quick catchup session. Also bumped into my man Simon, who was playing a similar game to me. Unusually for a Geoff/Simon interaction neither of us were perched on our wheeled steeds and we werent in the middle of nowhere (our last chance encounter was when we crossed paths riding in opposite directions down the main street of Casino) and catchups were made as well. Hes as big a fan of Christmas shopping as I am so it seems. A trip to Riverlink for me usually involves bumping into at least three people I havent seen for a while but encounters with two seemed to satisfy whatever deity is in charge of random encounters, because I never saw another familiar face the rest of the time I was in there. Ill probably run into four or five next time. Eventually we only had one present left to buy, and for reasons Im still not up to speed with we wandered into The Reject Shop. Now theres an eye opener. We spent 20 minutes in there and Im still not sure whether Reject refers to the stock or the clientele. A purchase was almost made, but at the last minute second thoughts were had and we vacated the shop for greener pastures. 3 days till madness descends and then about 290 days until the start of the next Christmas season. Welcome relief indeed.
