Well Ive been reading about contract negotiations for the Cowboys and if it was me I would make a few moves. Number 1: meet with Dez Bryant and explain to him that based on his current history with the law that the cowboys want to ensure he is mature enough to handle a long term deal. Give him the franchise tag and make him prove it before we just whip out the checkbook. I love Dez but WR come and go and upcoming talent can be signed for cheaper and be reliable to the squad if Dez cant get his act together off the field. 2. We offer Demarco Murray a bigger contract that locks him in for a good part of his career. The dude is consistent and a good way to balance our pass heavy offense. Yes he comes with the injuries scare but in that position it happens to the best of them. We could get a lot of use out of him. 3. Focus on defense. Yes our defense is looking way better than last year but lets use our money to ensure that Sean Lee will have a squad to fear next year. Our offense doesnt normally struggle to score with our starters in but defense is what wins games. 4. Brandon Weeden gotta go. The cowboys offense is not built for him. Hes not a consistent qb yet. Prospects to go after that I feel would be a better back up - Tim Tebow: Hes a winner. He knows how to adapt to new things. And he just wants in the NFL which means we could start him off for cheap and let him learn from Romo. -Colt McCoy: He impressed me in the Redskins game against us this year and could grow into a good qb with the right team. Matt Casel: yea hes hurt but with a booming offense Ive seen him succeed very well. 5. We need a solid back up RB. A lot of teams are going to the hot hand approach this year which means some backs may want to be in a more consistent role. Id like to see whos out there but a few names do spark interest for me. - Zac Stacy: from starter to nothing. I dont think that sounds right and I think with a better offense line he could be better. -Terrance West: Cleveland is fond of Ben Tate and I could see him leaving. Ray Rice (if reinstated): hes a premier back and could really be a change of pace player for us. I dont think crime will follow him either.
