Well, Ive finished watching the Emmys, Ill try to be quick, but I have to say, it was pretty f*cking horrible awards show. I mean, awful presentation, Seth Myers can go back to that corner where he thinks hes funny because all I got out of him was a guy who thinks that speaking loud is funny, and theres few people who can pull that off (Doug Walker for one), and he just didnt do a thing for me. This presentation also proves my point that the presenters should be given a timer and not the people who, you know, ARE WINNING THE F*CKING AWARD!!! I suffered through Jimmmy Kimmels mind-numbingly awkward 2 minute presentation speech which for some reason kept talking about Matthew McConaughy, probably for more attention. Not to mention Julia Roberts clearly being a last minute choice for a presenter for Drama Actor since it seemed like every second she was on screen, it screamed for a director to come in and tell her what to do. Also, many robberies where committed this evening, Modern Family won AGAIN, beating out Louie and Orange much to my chagrin (I havent even seen the show much, but Im sick of seeing Louis C.K. go empty handed, though he did win for writing). Another robbery was committed by Sherlock which robbed Fargo of Leading Actor, and I like Sherlock, and I really like Cumberpatch in the role, but Billy Bob Thortons morbidly funny Lorne Malvo made Fargo and will stand the test of time. Tolman was also robbed of her win, much to my chagrin. Ugh, however, there was some light in this show, namely was Breaking Bads triumph, Paul, Gunn, and Walley-Beckett all got there expected honors, and much to my delight: BRYAN CRANSTON WON!!!! YES! Im sorry Matthew McConaughy, you were good in True Detective, but Cranstons performance as Walter White is, in my mind, the greatest performance by an actor I have ever seen (and thats saying a lot), frankly, ANYONE winning over him in this role would be sheer robbery. It got me so happy that I actually fell to the ground, with my arms stretched out to the sky like some kind of super hero pose. Im sure a ton of people are gonna complain about McConaughys empty hands, but I dont care, Cranston deserved it, and McConaughy both has an Oscar, and his career on track, so suck it True Detective fan boys (its still a good show, but doesnt even come close to touching Breaking Bad); oddly enough, despite that victory, I was surprised that Gilligan was left empty handed for directing, which True Detectives director nabbed, though, I will admit, it was probably for that amazing long take (wink). All in all though, this was not a very good ceremony, there were ups, but this is a ceremony that reminds me why I DVR the show and watch later so I can skip (please, put Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as hosts next year, seeing what they did at the Golden Globes, it would work wonders for the Emmys)
