Well...Ive gone and done it again...I found Mama mouse again, hiding in the same drawer where I initially found her. This time when she ran, she left a kiddo behind. Say hello to Matilda. From my best guess shes about 2 weeks old. I put her back in the drawer hoping Mama would come back, but so far she hasnt. So, Im going to take a long shot and try to raise her myself. The odds are against her, but I cant just leave her to starve. She just took her first feeding (I assume) fairly well, but since Im not a Mama mouse, I have no idea. She was squeaking and crawling around but after she ate, she went to sleep. Right now I have her tucked inside a comfy hand crocheted pot holder (Thanks, Ma!) in a plastic bowl and sitting on top of the TV for warmth and to keep her out of Ellies reach. I wont go into the things I have to do to help her do her business. Lord have mercy!
