Well Rob Ninkovich says that his foot is fine, I hope so because we really need him! Read on........... In what can only be described as a good sign, Rob Ninkovich was present on the practice field on Tuesday. Rob injured his foot in the game against the Steelers. While he didnt return to the field, he did return to the sideline and appeared to move fine, without a limp or a walking boot. Ninkovich took time to talk with reporters about his injury on Tuesday, and his words seem to reflect some general optimism about his return, per Field Yates of ESPN: In the game there, I had a little something there, just dont really want to get into the specifics of it, but its something that with having a week off, Im sure Ill feel even better next week and running around and doing whatever it is as far as a week of recovery, he said. The Patriots wont have to submit a practice participation report until next Thursday, at which point well have a better feel for Ninkovichs availability for the Nov. 18 game at Carolina. In light of all the injuries to the defense, the fact that Rob appears to have avoided a serious one is extremely relieving. The Patriots will likely only have six defensive starters from opening day who will have played in every game when the team plays against Carolina after the bye. Ninovich, Chandler Jones, Brandon Spikes, Donta Hightower, Devin McCourty and Alfonzo Dennard are the only Patriots starters who have managed to stay healthy and Dennard has an injury which the team has not disclosed yet (he was seen on the sideline with trainers on the last Steelers drive of the game). But, with all the injuries the Pats defense has managed to be competitive and the team is 7-2. At least signs look good that Rob will play against Carolina in a couple of weeks when the Pats try to make it 8-2.
