Well…Thursday is the day! The Vampire Diaries will return for its 5th season on October 3rd! We have been thinking and speculating about what might be in store. Here are a few predictions we have for the upcoming season. Please proceed with caution, because even though these are our own predictions and speculations, we have been privy to some spoilers released in recent articles and interviews. 1) Stefan and Elena – Although Elena is 100% with Damon at the beginning of the season, I think that Elena will continue to be drawn to Stefan. I believe these too are fated to some extent, and that will be a huge story line this season. Is it possible the two sets of doppelgangers are always “meant to be”? 2) Silas and Katherine – Recent articles and episode descriptions suggest that Silas has an “interest” in Katherine. First, I’m going to go on to predict (could be totally wrong), but I think that Silas’s “one true love” is another Petrova. I think Silas will have a plan to bring back his one true love, and Katherine being human and the doppelganger of that person, will serve a purpose in Silas’s plan. Maybe he’s got a spell cooked up to put that plan in motion? But first…he needs a witch! 3) Bonnie Bennett WILL be brought back from the dead! – And that’s all I have to say on that. I will be one unhappy person if this does not happen. They’ve done it for Jeremy….TWICE. So by the end of the season, we will have our Bonnie, alive and present AND on the RIGHT SIDE. No ifs ands or buts…DONE. 4) Blood lines are torched, battle lines are drawn. – As the gorgeous Season 5 promotional poster above states. What does this mean? What battle lines will be drawn? Humans vs. Supernatural? Family vs Family? If you have noticed the new character posters that have been released, each character is draped in a sheer cloth. So far we have Tyler, Caroline, Bonnie, Stefan and Silas draped in black, yet Jeremy and Matt are draped in a white sheer cloth. What could this mean? Are those our battle lines?
