Well, Vics bloodwork came back with a second HIGH reading of Potassium (Hyperkalimia), soooo, the doctors decided (at 2 pm on Christmas Eve) he HAS to have emergency meds TODAY....NONE of the pharmacies had it or could get it before Friday or Monday. He cannot have ANY salt or high potassium foods (which cuts out MOST foods) right now. So we dumped our plans to eat out tomorrow & ran across the street to Publix to grab a fresh turkey breast & a couple of things he COULD eat for tonight/tomorrow. When....what to our wondering ears did appear but a phone call from our favorite Publix pharmacist to call them back. So I just found the message from the call while we were out a few minutes ago & she says she found the generic med & Vic has left to go get it before they closed tonight at 7 pm!!!! I am NOT happy that they put all of us in a crises when they could have told us this a couple of days ago & gotten the meds w/o putting everybody in a crisis. THANK YOU PUBLIX (and especially our pharmacist, Gwen, at #560) for going the extra mile AGAIN jumping through doctors hoops!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The turkey will be just about done by the time he gets back (I NEVER do the turkey or ham on Christmas Eve!). And theyve moved him back to a stronger dialysis solution because his blood pressure has been through the roof...may have been in at least partly caused by the high potassium....so weve done nothing but fight battles today.......Ill be glad when this week is over. So much for trying to get MY doctor appts done.....I dont mind putting it off....I MIND being put in CRISES MODE by EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!
