Well a beautiful moment in this eventful day. After we left the ER Matt asked where I would like to eat. For some reason I said...just go to Applebees I just want to sit and have one cocktail. So we sat and ordered and a homeless woman came to the window and in a grand display starts removing her layers of blankets and coats, scarves, hats, to reveal this bone thin, frail figure, her condition put mine in great perspective. She wandered in and spoke with the host who sat her in the waiting area. The host immediately went to get the manager and the two of them went into the back for a homeless person powwow. I looked at Matt and said I wanted to make sure she was being taken care of so we sent our server to check to see what their plan was. She came back and said the restaurant rules were that they could not give food to her. We said, well we can... So they showed her a menu...she picked an avocado and strawberry salad. The host came back to our table and looked at me and said so you want me to wrap that to go then Im sure?. I replied Yes, Im sure you want her moving along. He nodded and went back to the kitchen. I heard those words echo through my still pounding head (fresh from the ER LOL) and looked at Matt. Why does she have to hurry and go? She is now a paying customer. She can come eat her salad at our table with us. So we called the waitress over...had them switch it to a plate...they brought her to our table. She could barely communicate, but luckily I happen to speak brain cloud. :). She was so thankful. The staff, turns out, was just assuming we would want to send it to go and were happy to have her stay. The manager gave her complimentary chicken for her salad. What a nice, kind world we still do have...she was able to say to me that people are not usually nice to her. Matt, never objects to my crazy ideas and always signs the checks. :). Whoever it was who said their was not real love out their...or that we were just stupid fools for believing in it. Dont ever loose your faith. It can be found in the strangest of places...if you just open your eyes.
