Well after 2 weeks of hell I am back in Iowa and riding my bike. I went on a 61 mile bike ride called ONABIKE at Onawa Iowa. Once again strong winds for the first 43 miles and then we turned and had the wind to our backs for the last 20 miles. Plenty of hills to provide a challenge but the last hill was the only one that we had the wind to our backs. You might think that is good but when it is 95 out and you are going the same speed as the wind so you feel no breeze at all it gets a little toasty. Just to prove that I can still laugh after our troubles, I have noticed the speech of bike riders and how it is perfectly ok to say certain things when you are riding a bike, like I will hear a young man asking his female companion “how is your butt” Perfectly good question while riding a bike yet socially inappropriate in other situations.
