Well, all right Marvel! *Celebration music* After considering creating a solo Black Widow film last week, theres now indeed confirmation. Please tell me Joss Whedon will still be working with Marvel until then! :D Perhaps Patty Jenkins the fired without warning original director (which actor Natalie Portman was very furious about) for Thor: The Dark World should be given the project or something. I just found out this happened. Have you seen Monster before?! Patty won the DGA Award for Outstanding Achievement for a Dramatic Series for the pilot of The Killing in 2011. Jenkins is known for writing and directing Monster (2003) which Charlize Theron won an Academy Award for Best Actress in. You cant tell me she didnt have the credentials or anything like that. Id really like to see a female director behind Black Widow, but, this seems unlikely. And, as of now, it has occurred just twice (2008s Punisher: War Zone, Lexi Alexander and 1995s Tankgirl, Rachael Talalay) when it comes to superhero stuff. That most recent instance being five years ago. The six slated movies of the genre this year are all helmed by men. Still, more likely than DC Comics/Warner Bros. doing that for a superhero flick.
