Well am back from Napier. Mum is improving but clearly was not good. She definitely wasnt good when I arrived but it helped my being there. Wish my kids would go and see her as she still asks about them all the time. Been a virus through the home and everything was closed down, had to wear a mask and hand cleaner everywhere. At 94, it hit her hard. Spent most of the time just sitting, holding her hand. Her skin is so soft but frail. Her mind is still good. Not great but good. She rambles abit at times but it is amazing just what she remembers at times. But she muddles it a bit. Thank you to all my friends for your thoughts. On way back had a lamb shank pie in the Workingmans Cafe in Matamata. Has got to be one of the best pies ever. Bought another one to heat for dinner tonight and also they had amazing Walnut and macadamin chutney. They make it but gave me some. Go try it folks!!
