Well, another night of insomnia so I figured Id try something new. I posted yesterday about the upcoming Tactical Advantage knives for 2014. I plan on making these fairly high end this go around. With that said Ive been looking around for adornments or things I could do that would set them apart from just a branded piece of steel. I stumbled across some pics of vine work or scroll/tribal file work on the spines of some custom knives and decided to give it a try. This is just a piece of 1/4 inch mild steel flat bar I got at the home depot to practice with. This was the first attempt, start to finish. Not the cleanest work but I feel confidant I can do it now for sure, especially with a little practice. This was completely by hand with none of my power tools and I was second guessing myself during the process. Im feeling pretty confidant I can pull off a significantly more detailed pattern when the knifes come in. The last few pics were after I blued the facets to see if it would help it pop and the last pic is just between a couple pieces of foam to similate what the spine would look like between some scales. Any opinions?
