Well, another year nearly ready to hung on the line. It has been a wild one! Yet, by the grace of God Almighty.......we are still here, in spite of ourselves! I have spent a lot of time, attempting to point out the root causes of the things going wrong, while at the same time........at least within my limited intellect......I attempt to provide real solutions, I am comforted that I am not alone! Fortunately, we have a forum......well.......we have forums to ask the questions, and speak the truths that must be spoken! We sometimes forget that we are being watched, and read by others. Some of these people are from the far reaches of the globe! What a sobering thought, and one that should give pause to consider not just what we present, but how it is presented, to cover the spirit, scope, and meaning. While it is human nature to want to be agreed with, it is not realistic, and if we are to garner the opinions, and ideas of others, it clearly is a thing that should never be the case. When I build something, it is truly the work of my hand........but outside, objective, constructive criticism is as much of the process as the hammer, nails, screws, bolts, and blue prints. This is especially true.......if we are to share, sale, or pass that creation on! Who after all, wants to be tied to the production of junk? Much like our inventions, we can also become too close to our thoughts, beliefs, and contentions. They must be challenged, Iron sharpening Iron it can produce a better widget, or better skills as you are called on to defend your beliefs! Some would call it debate, it need not be called such. It may be an honest inquiry, but nothing more than a discussion. Usually not threatening, or should not be seen as such......unless one has no real thought out convictions, as to their belief system! When faced with someone of that ilk, we are often treated to anger, foul language, and change of course. Rather than intellectual give and take, the ignorant knows little of those skills, but extremely well versed at taking offense! Taking the high ground, best done, as seldom is it that your efforts will change the mind of those who challenge your beliefs. It is often observed by those on the sideline........those are the people you will reach. In fact, when it is a debate, it would generally been seen to go well for the person who is so focused at presenting the facts, logic, and truths of their position.........while giving no thought to the defeat of the other person. Funny, when you present the reasons for your beliefs, it seems to be sufficient. The other-side.......is seen......to be left wanting. I mention these things, because these examples are the things that so many of you do. You dont get angry, you just strengthen your argument. In the course of this past year..........we have had many interesting discussions. I have pretty much been told........in the most polite of ways, sometimes, that I was full of it, on more than one issue, as well as occasions. I never took offense........what I did.......was respectfully disagree, and do additional research.........to make sure that I was on solid ground. Such is the way it should be.......and should I have found that I was, off-base I would correct my position! So, in honor of another year nearly ready to be hung on the line..........I want to thank you all for the the challenges to my thought process! I want to thank you for being in agreement with me..........well some of the time. I want to thank you all for your prayers, and well wishes. I want to say Happy Birthday to those of you whom were missed, because I just didnt have the desire to go on line on that particular day. I want to thank those of you who, Un-friended Me, as I would have never done that to you.........no matter how much of a jerk you were! Besides, in each and every case.......you approached me, curious to be sure. Most of all, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, or Hanukkah! Remember, no matter how rough things seem to be, we are still one day closer to the Day of the Lord, and that has got to be a good thing.
