Well, another year of inductees into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame has been announced, and once again a number of artists & groups many feel deserving were passed over. Included in that forgotten about category is Connie Francis. From the late 1950s to the early 60s, no female artist has more success on the charts. Our featured song today, Whos Sorry Now?. The song was written by Ted Snyder (music), and Bert Kalmar & Harry Ruby (lyrics), and published in 1923. Over the years the song has been recorded by numerous artists ... it was also featured in the 1946 Marx Brothers film A Night In Casablanca. Connie herself didnt care for the tune, but, it was one of her fathers favorites, feeling it would be a rock n roll hit for his daughter. During an October 1957 recording session, scheduled to be Francis last, since she had no hits, wrapped up early, Connie used the remaining time to record Whos Sorry Now? as a goodwill gesture to her father. Breaking in January of 58, mainly on the strength of Dick Clark playing the song on American Bandstand. That got the song noticed ...
