Well...as I posted with the picture from Park City, here is the story on how I almost got all of us home in a tragic way today. Going up I-80 east of SLC, we come across a vehicle stalled (blown motor) in the center lane of the three lane freeway on a steep grade. A family is in the car. I have the truck and a tow strap. I will go help them...As I was in the far lane, I got over a bit up the road from them and, as all five of us watch in horror, the near hits are stacking up...I turned the truck around and start going back down, facing traffic, in the parking lane/shoulder-which was plenty roomy. As I get close to the vehicle, nobody else has stopped to help and the near hits are scary and vehicles are just flying around the poor souls...Well (deep breath here)...TWO semis avoid wrecks by heading into the right lane and then into the parking lane...the first one wasnt close. The. second. one. was. real. close. My only thought as the head on collision looked imminent was...(insert your guess as a comment below). Anyway, no collision, but very close. Eventually, a semi stopped in the right hand lane, which allowed me to pull the poor scared folks off to the shoulder, I loved that 10 seconds where I was underneath their car to hook up the tow strap lol...they were tourists/immigrants and could not speak a word of English...appreciation has no language and their thanks made it all worthwhile...Kids were high fiving in the truck when we got this done...much better than the screams when they believed we were going to be a hood ornament for a Kenworth...with Vincent Evenson and Maddy Evenson
