Well back in Goroka. Not really closer to resolution for our baby Esta. THe hospital In Lae where her surgery was scheduled had only ONE cardiac monitor (one of the biggest hospitals in our country!) and it broke on Friday. Now no major surgeries are scheduled for the next two to four weeks while they wait for a new one to arrive from overseas. THey just installed a brand new CT machine that would have been very helpful to see just where this tumor is and its consistency...BUT they have NOT TRAINED anyone to use the machine! It is working...but unusable! UGH. With the tumor growing every day at least a centimeter...we can not wait for surgery. HE sent us back to Goroka for an urgent procedure for her by the general surgeon up here. If he can not help then it is off to Mount Hagen to try there. PLEASE PRAY! THis is so very very hard. So far the cancer has not seemed to have started...the ultrasound on her abdominal organs (though he only spent literally 7 minutes looking...brief overview??!!) looked good. Will try again tomorrow! SO wish we were overseas where things WORKED! Our surgeons here are amazing...they HAVE to be as they have NOTHING but their skill to rely upon! More efforts..more time...more cost...but sweet ESTA is WORTH it ALL!
