Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit. I have had a nice Monday morning! This sounds pretty odd, but bear with me.... I listen to a LOT of pre-1982 music. A LOT. I have 5 MP3 players, ITunes and Windows Media loaded with a good billion songs. I went without hearing for seven years. Not hearing ANYTHING other than the loud ringing in my head. I missed music terribly. It was one of the hardest losses I ever had to face. Fast forward. I have been hearing with a cochlear implant for 32 years now. It has advanced in sound quality over the years more than a normal hearing person could even begin to imagine. When it is not turned on, I literally could not hear a bomb go off. With the implant on, I can literally hear a pin drop. I appreciate music more than a normal hearing person could comprehend. I am constantly checking out music CDs from the library to listen to. Many I have never heard before. It is such fun trying to train my hearing to unlock the beat, rhythm, etc. Songs that I heard before I went deaf sound almost identical, if not better. But music I am not familiar with has to be incorporated and learned so I can understand it well. For some reason, a song that I vaguely, and I mean VAGUELY remember came to mind this past weekend. I looked it up online. I did not recognize the artist - Larry Graham. So I went You Tube and entered One in a Million You. I found a hit that had the lyrics onscreen as the song progressed. WOW! This is FANTASTIC listening training or a cochlear implant wearer!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe I had never heard of Larry Graham. His voice is just gorgeous to my hearing with electronic sound. On line with George Benson. Just a true delight to listen to. Voices like these two men,as well as Frank Sinatra, and Micheal Buble - are just so very, very pleasing to my hearing via cochlear implant. And it makes me so very, very happy to have purchased Bose computer speakers!!!! :) A nice start to the week! https://youtube/watch?v=4a_5PWAeqT4
