Over a number of weeks the Crew held a street collection, a BBQ and additionally five Fire-fighters ran the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon The Fire-fighters would like to publicly thank the general public who made donations as well as all their sponsors who generously donated all the prizes, gifts, auction items & food for the BBQ event. Bernard Regan, a member of the Maghera Fire & Rescue Service, said: “We are so pleased with the success of the fundraising events & how this money raised will help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to terminally ill people. We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness.”
