Well done to Maroochydore Intensive Care Paramedic Erin McDonald, who performed her first operational winch rescue yesterday. Erin was winched down to a cargo ship 25 nautical miles off the coast of Fraser Island to retrieve an ill crewman - he was then flown to Nambour Hospital for treatment. Winch rescues from ships can be difiicult, but Erins first trip down the line went smoothly thanks to her training and the skills of the CareFlight chopper pilot and air crewman.
