Well done to Stompin for their new project- and you can be involved! We are seeking dancers to help create our 2014 show MY HEART IS A HALL in collaboration with directors’ Emma Porteus and Finegan Kruckemeyer. This show will explore the way our social history is contained within the very walls of our public halls that stand (sometimes filled, sometimes ignored) in Tasmanian towns. We are seeking to create a performed biography of the town hall as if it were a living thing. We will generating a performance that is at once idiosyncratic and immediately familiar, exploring things that Stompin performers and audience members will recognise; life’s lived, things shared and felt, all through the prism of the town hall, the true beating heart of the town. MY HEART IS A HALL will tour to four locations around Tasmania in March 2014. Stompin’s MY HEART IS A HALL Show Call is open to anyone between the ages of 13-30. The Show Call is on Saturday 19th October from 12pm - 2pm at the Stompin Studio in Launceston. Experienced and non-experienced dancers welcome and no preparation is needed.
