Well done to all the people helping with this campaign to protect - TopicsExpress

Well done to all the people helping with this campaign to protect our green open space, from the depredations of the present administration of Liverpool. Next Tuesday (23 September), there is a meeting of the Regeneration, Housing and Sustainability Select Committee of Liverpool City Council. On the agenda, is an update of The Local Plan, which will form the planning framework for Liverpool to 2028. As part of this process, there was a call for sites earlier in the year, asking people to propose sites for potential development, or to propose sites to be protected as green, open space and so on. All this information is on the Liverpool City Council website. One of the appendices to the above Local Plan update report (which can be viewed on the City Council website), lists the responses. These show that earlier this year Liverpool City Council (physical assets), put forward 3.39 hectares of land at Woolton Woods (along High Street), to be allocated as a site for residential purposes. There are a disturbing number of sites that have been put forward by Liverpool City Council (physical assets) as potential residential sites, including Allerton Towers. I would suggest to all involved in this campaign (and anybody concerned about green, open spaces throughout Liverpool), to look through this documentation, and to become involved in the Local Plan process. These are not done deals yet, but it is clear that a lot more green, open spaces are going to come under threat, in the near future.
