Well duh... that doesnt in one way diminish what Rice did. He should be suspended, Goodell should be giving the choice to resign or get fired and the Ravens should be fined and lose draft picks. And please, no well Ben got accused of rape... well Kobe did too, and both should have gone through the process and paid a price. These guys have been coddled their entire careers going back to highschool, even junior high. Professional sports should have a ZERO tolerance policy on violent crimes... I guarantee if they benched players pending investigation and banned those found guilty, the violent acts and coverups would stop immediately. And please, not guilty until proven innocent is a legal standard for criminal trials, it has no bearing on an employer. High profile employees like professional athletes have a morals and/or negative publicity clause in their contracts. Many companies have similar clauses in their contracts... if you work for one and violate that clause, youre history.
