Well everyone, I apologize for my lack of updates on our little lady. We have been quite busy with lots of progress! Ella Rose is now loving school and all of her friends at the Bell Center! She can name her entire class, her teachers and volunteers and talks about them daily. She is also beginning to recognize colors and objects based solely on her vision. This is a HUGE step! We would like to ask for a specific prayer request. She will have a small surgery on her left eye on January 6 at St. Vincents. Our ophthalmologist will be working to, hopefully, correct a weepy left eye and will inspect her optic nerve. Our prayer is that her optic nerve is healthy and functioning properly. As most of you know, her vision impairment is not due to eye problems, but damage to the left side of her occipital lobe in her brain. It actually sends signals back and forth to the eye via the optic nerve. As long as the optic nerve is healthy, there is great hope for future eye sight as her brain remaps. Philippians 4:6 says Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. We are beyond thrilled with Ella Roses progress. We ask for prayers for the specific health of her optic nerve. Thank you all for loving our girl and continuing to lift her up in prayer. She is a living testament to Gods love, even through hard times.
