Well everyone that knows me also knows that David and I are pretty much open books....in other words we can talk to anyone about anything... and often do sometimes good idea and sometimes maybe a bad idea, LOL But who knows who maybe needing our testamony. .....Today is no different. LOL My husband and I have been married for almost 36 years. It has not always been easy. The first 14 years were truthfully the hardest. And there were times when we both probably could have walked away, and I will go as far as saying I actually tried a few times. This was difficult because we had 4 kids in 5 years. The pain in our childrens eyes always made me and my husband try again. It was hard at times because being young and vulnerable, and at the time the pasture always tended to look much greener on the other side....it was so easy just to imagine better. We all had friends and we seen many of our friends go through divorces. Seen how some kids got along with his or her step parents, and how some didnt. For us we fought to stay together in the beginning for our kids. Not to say we did not love each other because we did, but we were not putting Christ first in our marriage, nor in our life....and that is just the plain truth. Also there was a lot of pent up anger that is so hard to let go of. Sometimes it is just so much easier to stay mad. However, David and I stayed together, and what we thought was Love at the beginning of our marriage was nothing and I mean NOTHING compared to the Love we feel now, and have felt for 22 years......I can honestly say we both are so proud we have stuck it out. He is my best friend, and i am his..We have fun together, because we have been through the fire together.Marriage is literally like a muscle...one has to keep working with it to keep it strong.....That goes with the heart muscle as well. It has to be exercised with compassion, fed with disire, and stroked with silly fun .....silly without the kids kind of fun. Things best friends do... I have recently had a love one tell me that he was never really happy with his married life, he is a widow now. Then on the same token I have also seen a young girl that had beauty, grace, and could have every man at her beck and call be divorced 4 times now, and she is alone. So sad. I say this because everyone has to walk his or her own path in life, but please make sure it is GODS hand that is leading you, and not the Devils. I do believe not all marriages are meant to be, but I can promise you this. Those marriages that are are worth fighting for..then Fight for them. Dont let it be a regret that cant be fixed...This pertains to no one in particular it has just been heavy on my heart, and I wanted to share.
