Well everyone this week was absolutely AMAZING!!! What a blessing it is for us to be able to hear from our prophets and apostles every 6 months! This weekend it dawned on me that prophets wrote the bible and ancient american prophets wrote the book of mormon and those amazing books are considered holy scripture! Well the people we heard speak this weekend are prophets and apostles just like moses, noah abraham, nephi and moroni! We essentially get a new set of modern day scriptures every six months!! What an incredible blessing we have as members of Christs church! We met an amazing family this week the Bickels!! So brother Bickel was baptized when he was 8 years old and due to his mother going less active when he turned 15 he has not been to church in 12 years!!! Well we felt inspired to go and visit this family out of the blue this week. We literally had never met this family and had no knowledge of them whatsoever! We went over and Bro. Bickel acutally let us right it without any negotiation! We sat down and almost immediately, Renae, bro bickels soon to be wife says, we and the children need a church to go to and since this is the only church that Devin (Bro. Bickel) knows we want you teach us about the church and we wanna start coming! MIRACLE!!!! So we quickly taught about the holy ghost and his role in conversion and set a return appointment for friday to teach the Restoration! It was AMAZING!! The spirit was sooo strong and Renae committed to being baptized and they also committed to getting married ASAP!! We then went over the next day to watch conference and to follow up on their prayers and book of mormon study! They are just literally soooo amazing! I am so blessed that the Lord has prepared so many people in this area, so many of my friends that i needed to find have been hidden here in C-Town West Virginia! Highlights: Renae soon to be Bickel is getting BAPTIZED Bro. Nielsens Friend Howard wants to get BAPTIZED Got to watch conference and experience a serious revelation station! MY LIFE COULD NOT GET ANY BETTER!!!! My studies this week = AMAZING!! I studied the Vision of the Tree of Life this week from 1 Nephi 8! It was amazing because the revelation I received coincides perfectly with the message I got from Conference this weekend! As I studied I noticed 3 very distinct groups that Nephi mentions from his Fathers dream, now I dont know if this was quite on purpose or just coincidence but either way I learned a valuable lesson! In 1 Nephi 8:21-23 it says 21 And I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whomwere pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which ledunto the tree by which I stood. 22 And it came to pass that they did come forth, and commencein the path which led to the tree.23 And it came to pass that there arose a mist of darkness; yea,even an exceedingly great mist of darkness, insomuch that theywho had commenced in the path did lose their way, that theywandered off and were lost. Unfortunately there are many people that his happens to where they do not take advantage of the tools god has given them. Just before these verses Nephi tells us that there was a straight and narrow path as well as a rod for them to hold fast to. Because of this groups failure to utilize the gifts and tools that God had given them, Satan caught them in his snares and mists of darkness! The next group that Nephi mentions is found in verses 24-28 it says 24 And it came to pass that I beheld others pressing forward, andthey came forth and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; andthey did press forward through the mist of darkness, clinging tothe rod of iron, even until they did come forth and partake of thefruit of the tree. 25 And after they had partaken of the fruit of the tree they didcast their eyes about as if they were ashamed. 26 And I also cast my eyes round about, and beheld, on the otherside of the river of water, a great and spacious building; and itstood as it were in the air, high above the earth.27 And it was filled with people, both old and young, both maleand female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; andthey were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingerstowards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit 28 And after they had tasted of the fruit they were ashamed,because of those that were scoffing at them; and they fell awayinto forbidden paths and were lost. This group you would have thought would have been very solid! They even caught hold to the rod and made it through the pains and temptations accompanied with their journey! I firmly believe that this group embarked on their journey frivolously and light heartedly. Their intent wasnt to make the fruit the quest of the lifetime but just another accolade of which they can check off of the list! This is very sad!! They made it to the end and then turned back on their commitment and entered into complete apostasy! Let us not forget how good Satan is at what he does! The third group that Nephi shares with us is found in verse 30 its says, 30 But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudespressing forward; and they came and caught hold of the end of therod of iron; and they did press their way forward, continuallyholding fast to the rod of iron, until they came forth and fell downand partook of the fruit of the tree. The biggest difference that I found betweent his group and the former is the words in verse 30 saying until they came forth and FELL DOWN AND PARTOOK OF THE FRUIT OF THE TREE This group made the fruit the central point in their lives! This is what they lived for!!! This is all they sought after! All they could talk about, think about, and dream about was partaking of the fruit of The Tree of Life! My invitation to all is to make the gospel the central point in your life! Do as President Dieter F. Uchtdorf stated during conference and make the Gospel ..a quest of a life time It is interesting because in verse 33 it says 33 And great was the multitude that did enter into that strangebuilding. And after they did enter into that building they did pointthe finger of scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruitalso; but we heeded them not. The path leading to Satan is certainly much easier to walk then the straight and narrow path which leads to the Savior! I can promise each one of you though as a direct representative of the Lord Jesus the Christ that the fruits of the Gospel are much sweeter then those of Satans path. If you will make Christs Gospel the center of your life, you will find yourself more at peace and much happier each day as I have found personally in my life! Let us all make our actions the Saviors actions and stop making excuses and JUST DO IT now! I know the Book of Mormon to be true and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords Kingdom once again restored to the earth again!
