Well face book friends, they DONE IT. The Broome County Legislature has voted to give them selves a raise by a 9 to 4 vote last night. They feel so good about themselves they decided to give themselves an automatic raise every year. And the kicker is they will be voting on how much to give to themselves. This is a first, Never has been done before, and I dont believe it is done any where else in NYS But lets take a quick look back. They were advised last night to sell Willow Point Nursing home because it was in the red. This year they also voted to shut down the mental health clinic in the county. That means jobs lost, clients left to fend for themselves. Sheriffs dept officers lost their showup/prep time. It was either that or people gone. Then they over estimated sale tax revenue by a whole bunch. Never done a 50/50 sales tax split with municipalities like they promised....Yeh we should have a lot of money LOL Lets hope the Executive does the right thing
