Well fishing fans, I woke up this morning at 4:30 with great optimism to take our charter today on the Outlaw. The forecast was still for NE 15-20 knot winds but the 6 mile buoy said 3.6ft at 8 seconds. HOLY COW its nice! I got ready and stepped outside to load the truck and its blowing its ass off. Something is wrong! I drove to the boat looking at every tree and flag on the way. Flags were starched out! THIS SUCKS! On the way to the boat I wondered how it could be so nice offshore. The 70 degree surface temps at the 6 mile buoy made me think there must be down current and its really gonna suck out in the North current where we need to fish. I checked the wind and weather apps and it was blowing a sustained 17 gusting to 23 straight out of the North on the beach.. Time to call the charter. I called Ron and we discussed the weather. Despite having a great boat to go fishing on the major underlying factor for me was that he had his 6 year old son going. After a lengthy discussion we pulled the plug on our 6th charter in a row! Hopefully the Sailfish Regatta will go off without a hitch and we can watch some exciting boat races. current buoy 4.2 at 5 seconds I think it would really suck in a couple hundred feet of water and North current
