Well folks, almost a week away from the finals of the Road to Memphis Blues Challenge here in Edmonton, AB. So excited to compete and play for some of Canadas Blues Advocates. I dont really know what hit me when I first heard the recording of Bonnie Riatt singing at SRVs tribute, but it changed my life forever. It was a complete accident, my step mom was in a store trying on shoes, I went through some CDs and for whatever reason put that in. From there I dove into it all! Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Colin James, Little Walter, it was only three chords but there was something amazing about the emotion you heard in the music, from the pain and sorrow to uplifting joy. It really touched my soul. I hope to see lots of friendly faces at the finals Oct 19 at the old timers cabin on Scona Road.
