Well folks, today marks nine long weeks since I fractured my left - TopicsExpress

Well folks, today marks nine long weeks since I fractured my left humerus bone. ( I will post photos of the x- rays in the comments section for those brave enough to look) The road to recovery has been long and aggravating, I am not used to having to ask for help!! The ossification ( bone regeneration) (calcification is the white residue in a coffee pot) process has been much slower than originally expected as told to me by Doctors. More in line with what I have read on line though!! I have suffered through many lows as I am not able to participate in my running. Until two weeks ago I was thinking that I would not be ready for Fargo Full or the Calgary Ultra. Ten days ago, I met a young man at the gym. He was quite concerned for my situation and was hoping for the best for me and a speedy recovery!! I was shocked that he was worried about me!! This young man had a brain / spinal injury a few years ago playing high school football!! His life had been turned upside down and his future will always be surrounded by people to help him in every tasks!! At this moment, I realized that my injury could have been much more serious!! My life is still pretty great and I actually believe that if the Doctor allows me to start running after the next appt, I will be participating in Fargo and Calgary....hopefully the full and Ultra knowing that people have had worse injuries than I can possibly imagine!! Thanks to all of you wishing me a speedy recovery and especially to my wife Jacqueline Neumann for her patience through all the highs and extreme lows of my attitude!!
