Well folks, we made it through another summer, and the finest time - TopicsExpress

Well folks, we made it through another summer, and the finest time of the year is upon us once again! To celebrate another Autumn I have compiled this years Campfire Tour set list. 2014s edition includes some old time favorites and a couple of new songs that I have been working diligently on, but I still can barely sing while I play, and my playing aint all that great, but what the heck, its a Campfire Tour, and with the people gathered around the fire, all wrapped in blankets and some cold beer and warm feelings nobody notices all that much! To begin the festivities Ive dropped my tuning to Drop D, and start the show with a song Ive been playing since I was 14 years old. I never get tired of Bron Yr Aur by The Mighty Led Zeppelin: youtube/watch?v=2YZ_lIpG1XQ And dedicated to my beautiful wife, Cheryl, Because Im still in love with you, I want to see you dance again... Harvest Moon by Neil Young, performed by Pearl Jam... youtube/watch?v=k1DFifr7iYg While in Drop D it only makes sense to move into the Foo Fighters fabulous Everlong: youtube/watch?v=PGQAfolOJUI Which brings us to some pre-season cheer; I believe in Father Christmas by Greg Lake: youtube/watch?v=U6-PAKOt7sM And back to standard tuning with the twist of a key, slap a capo on the first fret and Viola, Night Moves by Bog Seger: youtube/watch?v=hrY3HzPV5sE Moving the capo to the second fret for a little Red Hot Chili Peppers on a chilly evening, Under the Bridge: youtube/watch?v=DKOc2S1AkjE And just because I love the line cuz I knew how much, you loved the sun... youtube/watch?v=jjKVBj0fmkg Moving right along, and right up the neck with the capo its time for my favorite, Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull: youtube/watch?v=BV-ASc0qkrM By this time in the show the crowd is buzzing right along and in all liklihood has stopped listening, but thats a good thing because my fingers are cold and the coffee is hot and its time to join the party! In case theres an encore, Ive got a few others up my sleeve: Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones Cant You See, by Wayland Jennings (or Marshall Tucker) Ring of Fire by Social Distortion (or Johnny Cash) Me and my Bobby Magee by Kris Christopherson (or Janice who sang it better than the guy who wrote it) If you want blood...You Got it! ACDC (acoustic you ask? Why not I say!) and of course, my Led Zeppelin list, which is lengthy! Well, that was fun. Sorry to be a party pooper but the real campfire tour is more like me sitting next to the grill while the chicken is cooking, sipping an O douls and picking a few favorites while singing to Mr Wilson! But a man s gotta dream...
