Well for someone reason I am having trouble uploading pics to this page. The short of it is that my parents and my Uncle Kent were transporting Lachie from Toowoomba Hospital to Caloundra after being discharged this morning andy they were in the Bruce Highway near the Bribie exit when Lachlan began to go slowly into a partial complex seizure. They pulled off the highway and thought he was going to come good as he was sitting in the grass talking to them but then fell forward and was obviously in a non responsive seizure situation. While he did not end up in a tonic clinic situation he was unconscious so they called ambulance that arrived quickly and transported him to Caboolture Emergency Department. Lach was given 10mg if Midazolam by my father nasally and the ambulance gave him another 5 mg IM injection. this seemed to bring him out of it and he was responding to touch and talking. He then slipped back in again and was given 40mg of Phenobarbital IV. This stabilised him and he is sleeping off that drug. he had no breathing or oxygen difficulties this morning which is good. It will take him 6 hrs to sleep off the Phenobarbital. he has woken briefly to say e has a bad headache but is peacefully sleeping now. We travelled from Caloundra to Caboolture and will stay here with him. Mum and Dad have travelled up to the unit at Caloundra and I am hoping they are having a sleep after the adrenaline rush this morning. A huge thank you toy uncle and parents. Family help each other during tough times and we are grateful that my parents who are in their 70s help us as much as they do!!
