Well friends, today is a beautiful day! I have been sitting on something for a few months now just waiting and waiting and waiting. Remember that damn bronchitis I had for 8 months? Well, I had some tests done and they showed something VERY scary in my lungs that my primary care doctor was quite alarmed about. Alarmed enough to suggest I had been given an expiration date of somewhere between 2 - 6 years based on the information I was given and whether or not I could get a lung transplant. I hadnt told anyone, not even the hubby since he had his own problems going on. So, it has been a very scary summer for me.....until I got in to see the specialist yesterday - FINALLY! Seems I do have some nodules and scarring on my lungs - from what we are not sure. However, It is not far enough along to have given me this fright!!! I do have more testing to do and she assured me that the type of nodules I have rarely turn to cancer. And the scarring is not bad enough yet to indicate anything deadly at this point. And it is NOT Pulmonary Fibrosis yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to have cats scans every 6 months and be watched carefully, but my expiration date has been canceled!!!! Cant tell you what a relief this is! So, if you are sick or even THINK you might be sick, PLEASE stay away from me! I must protect my lungs so the scarring does not continue. And for those of you who think that you are no longer contagious once you start antibiotics - THAT IS NOT TRUE! That comes right from the pulmonary specialist who wishes doctors would stop telling people that. You are contagious until your symptoms are gone. And now, I need to find a NEW primary care doctor. Any suggestions?
