Well, friends, tomorrow is the memorial for our co worker and friend Robbie. I was pondering just now what he might like me to say tomorrow to his friends, what to share with them and I recalled a funny moment with Daniel a few days ago. Daniel had called me after speaking with Pastor Dan over at the Presbyterian church and asked Dottie, are you sure we should show the Ishu Patel Paradise at the church? And I said yeah, why? and he said its like fifteen minutes long and I thought Ha! now you know how I felt everytime he snookered an unsuspecting customer at the café to play it for him on the computer telling them ah, youre gonna just love this :) I knew it was going to be a fifteen minute run :) Hed look up at me and then point to the new friend he made and always just about, no matter how many times he had seen this animation, he had tears in his eyes. Sometimes I think it seems incomprehensible as to why one might put themselves in a situation that nobody else can seem to understand and so often questions are left unanswered. But with Robbie, no matter how incomprehensible it was to friends, these choices he made at the later stage of his years on earth, indeed we can know at this café so too did he have cause to meet and co work with us. Not a person who lived within a two mile radius of this café and this block not know this young man nor not have a great love and appreciation for him. Two things he would not be seen without: eye glasses and a good book. An interesting part of his biography is that his love for music was not just a love but it was a wisdom, a special knowledge, he had living within him. Many times when he would get Daniel to play one of his favorite classical composers you could hear his heart breaking and he would exclaim to the heavens and the earths Why? why right here? Isnt it just heart wrenching he would call out to no one in particular. Those two things tell us something about this man as well as his literally giving the jacket he was wearing during cold nights to someone who needed it. He would come in sometimes in the morning, as he never failed to not appear at 8am, and say I mean I just dont get it, I dont have any money and yet theyre asking me for money! So all I can give them are my last pennies.... I mean they are asking me?! .... beautiful brother who is now on the yonder side holding us in his heart as he moves towards this next phase of his journey. Many on facebook know our shared stories and so tomorrow as his friends gather, and his brother from Scotland, hold em all in ya hearts :) We have a few too small elderberries t-shirts that we are going to gift to his daughter Gwen and then also a young child by his long time sweetheart whose name I do not know as of yet. No matter where these two children roam always they will be able to call Elderberries and her co workers home... Love love love! p.s. If ya got 15 minutes take a looksee in honor of a friend vimeo/6765616
