Well go from near record warmth today to possible record cold by the end of the week. It will be a warm, wet, and windy end to the week with temperatures headed up into the mid to upper 70s today. Scattered downpours are possible through the first half of day, especially close to the coast. Some spots may even see a little sunshine this morning before more rain moves in this afternoon A strong cold front will move in this afternoon and evening bringing more widespread rain and even a few thunderstorms. There is the possibility that a couple of storms may become strong enough to produce damaging wind. Even outside of thunderstorms, wind gusts will likely top 30 mph today.Cooler and drier weather returns for Monday with high temperatures topping out in the 50s. It will remain cool and sunny through Wednesday but a blast of arctic air will surge into the Carolinas for Thursday. High temperatures will only top out in the 30s on Thursday with temperatures in the upper 10s to lower 20s both Thursday and Friday morning. It will be breezy Thursday morning as well so wind chill values may dip down into the single digits in some locations!
