Well, going beyond the government shutdown and what is the right thing to do, I just wanted to express one point. Obama promised that the new heath care law would not affect people with health plans and you would be able to keep your existing coverage. Well WRONG! After 13 years with independent coverage with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of CT, I received a wonderful letter letting me know that "Starting January 1, 2014, we will no longer offer or renew the individual health benefit plan you currently have". I will wait to see how watered down and more expensive the new plan they will "offer" based on all the changes being made to our medical system will be....my gut is that they will offer less....so much for his promise. The net, net of these changes is that some people will benefit and many others will be hurt.
