Well, got to the hospital in good time and sat there past my appointment time of 4.30...4.45 came and no call and we were the only ones left there now...asked a nurse and she said oh youre next, wont be a second and disappeared off for a further five minutes...then I was called in and there was the consultant and three nurses there...had to laugh, because if that didnt forecast bad news I dont know what did, anyway we sat down after being introduced to everybody, and then she told me what I had and named it and I turned to Ray and said..See...I told you...I was right...LOL...I was, it was called a lentigo maligna melanoma, but, the consultant said, they had managed to get the melanoma out when they did the deep biopsy, but they had to also remove the rest of the lentigo maligna which had sent out roots...and thats what is going to happen...a plastic surgeon is contacting me in the next two weeks and I should have the second operation in early September...with the really nasty bit gone theres less of a rush now to remove the rest of it...it could be done in my consultants department but its about a millimetre and a half away from my eye now so needs extra special care, which the plastic surgeon can give me...:) So thats it...I have my own MacMillan nurse assigned to me and will be checked after the op every three months for a year then after that Im free to live the rest of my life...but was warned it could come back and, if there was ever any sign of it returning, to contact them immediately...and thats all my news...:) Looks like I got it early enough...:) Thank you for all your kind thoughts and wishes...:) Greatly appreciated...
