Well guys, this takes the cake. This takes the absolute, complete hell of a cake. I set my video to render today, everything was A-Okay and it seemed to be going fine, so I went out to get some errands done. I kid you not, I came back to a corrupted hard drive. MY HARD DRIVE CORRUPTED WHILE RENDERING IN SONY VEGAS. I KID YOU NOT RIGHT NOW. I have no idea what happened. I know its PROBABLY not Vegass fault, but just the fact that it died WHILE RENDERING makes me so bitter towards the program as a whole. That being said... UNFORTUNATELY, though the hard drive that died wasnt my main one and my OS itself is still fine... I lost my Sony Vegas project file. As well as the Chibi drawings/animation. AND the next four episodes worth of commentary files. In essence, unless I can magically revive this hard drive, Ive lost all of my working files. Before you ask, no, I dont have a backup. I backed up my main hard drive, but neglected to back up the specific directory that the video files were under. WHICH I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHY. I LEGIT thought I did have it all somewhere, but APPARENTLY NOT. Needless to say, Im pretty distraught right now. I honestly have no idea how long itll take me to get everything back together again in a workable state. It took me weeks to get all of that together in the first place, and just thinking about trying to recreate it all is just dizzying. I could honestly cry. Part of me blames Vegas, part of me blames my computer... But in the end, I know it was my fault. I should have been more careful about organizing my files and making sure I had backups made. Im still bitter and angry and I really just need a few days to get over this and start working anew. With that being said... Ocarina of Time will be on hold for awhile. Partially for me to pick myself back up, partially to reconstruct everything from the ground up. If Im unable to get the files back, then I MAY look into using Adobe Premiere and force myself to learn it for the next episode. Just so I can go a day without the program crashing ten times an hour. (That is not even an exaggeration) Im sorry guys. I know OoT has been really rocky recently, and it pisses me off because Ive been working so damn hard on it, and yet stuff like this happens. You have no idea how badly I want to have a really steady, consistent schedule with no hiccups. Hopefully, if I do make the jump to Adobe Premiere right now, thatll cut the problems I have. But itll take time to get it together. Thanks for your patience.
