Well, have some time between appointments, so I can post about the so-very-exciting-things Im going to be doing... On Oct 10, I will be heading from Chicago to Amman, Jordan and Istanbul, Turkey. I am going to attend a two- weekend conference on Transgenerational Trauma, and am actually going to be facilitating a breakout session on how teens are effected by trauma. Over the past year, Ive had the good fortune to be involved in the Common Bond Institutes Social HealthCare Training program for volunteers assisting the refugees form the war in Syria. Well, in the week between the two conferences, Im going to be able to do some face-to-face training- quite a change from the internet version of the past year! I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this opportunity- as a Social Worker, and working with kids, this is the fulfillment of a dream-to make a difference is a small way, where the need is great. Not to diminish what I do and have done here, but these children are living hell on earth. And if I only do what I can, maybe it can help...and inspire others, as I have been inspired. My PLAN is to try to write and post to my website as the trip progresses, and of course, pictures as I figure out how to do them...
