Well having not raced any off-road stuff since February this year I was a little excited and nervous today for the first of the Fully Sussed Stingers at Newnham. I have been given plenty of encouragement to practise my off-road running with the Sweatshop and the Parkrun each Saturday morning. Plenty of biking practise from the Mavericks and Pilgrim Flyers and always a friendly push from loads of friends, Jay and Maddie, Ben Farrer, Tom Thorne, Leon and of course my No1 support team of Lisa and Rosie. So today, well it definitely lived up to the expectation, great circuit, great commentary and big supportive crowds. For a 47 year old I gave it my best shot and am really happy to grab 2nd Vet Solo. And to top it all off, Evie Lane rode back with me just to make sure I didnt fall off and die in a ditch. Hats off to James Bovey who whooped my ass today and to all the other competitors who gave 100%. Thanks Certini Bicycle Co.. Big G.
