Well hello there, Summer bodies are made in winter!!!! For those on their weight loss adventure... It’s true; unfortunately we can’t click our fingers the week before summer hits and suddenly be at goal! Last week I shared a story about my 2 oldest boys... My oldest is currently saving for a car... at the tender age of 12 years old! He puts a large percentage of his birthday, Christmas and pocket money away in a back account – he has set himself a goal, and is actively taking steps to achieve it. My second oldest is quite a character. He’s charismatic, bubbly, and loves living life for the NOW. So he’d rather spend his money... and save for a car “later on”. Why am I telling you this? Guys and gals... It is your life, I believe you get to live it once, I can’t force you to eat the best foods for you and make you try to move a little more... You are in charge of your body and what you put into it, and what you do with it! But what I can tell you is that summer bodies are made in winter – If you have a goal, you need to be actively taking steps to achieve it, not wait “until later on”. How about you start with having one BRILLIANT day, following the plan, tracking everything, move a little more, drink enough water, etc... just one BRILLIANT day! And then ask yourself how you feel at the end of that day! More energy? Better self esteem? No blow outs and/or binges? Can you do that, can you focus on having just one BRILLIANT day, and when your head hits the pillow asses the difference it makes... and then maybe, just maybe, you could try to have a couple more of those brilliant days in one week!!! Imagine that!!! And then imagine the difference it will make on the scales! For those of you that are already seeing great results... my guess is that you are already having quite a few brilliant days each week!!! Well done, and keep it up! OK, so, life is full of distractions, but no matter how busy it is, you can still make the choice to look after yourself and make sure you are not on the bottom of your priority list! Last week we chatted about diabetes, prevention and management. I have to admit, I learnt soooo much! Thought I knew a lot about type 1 and type 2... turns out I only knew a fraction of what there is to learn. This week... vegetarian? For some it may sound like a swear-word!! For others it’s a way of life! No matter where you are on the pendulum swing, it’s bound to make a good discussion! I’m also going to touch on being fructose intolerant... I’m sure there are a few of you that are and have a lot to teach us about the warning signs and management. Have a great week everyone, hope to see you at some stage, and oh - thanks to those of you that took the time to vote for our Healthy Life Award entrants. Bec
