Well here we go again, at the next council meeting on Wednesday, Girt Hall St Georges Centre 7pm The Councillors are planning to discuss using the £10,000 left over from the now defunct Island Caretaker to Fund School Crossing Patrols that are going to be cut with the closure of Underhill Infant / Junior Schools. This money belongs to everyone who has paid the precept. As I am lead to believe School Crossing Patrols are funded from the Education Budget WHICH YOU PAY FOR AT THE COUNTY LEVEL OF COUNCIL TAX. So therefore you will be paying for THIS SERVICE TWICE. I urge everyone to attend this meeting and voice your protest. portlandtowncouncil.co.uk/Agenda-Council-July-2014.pdf
