Well, here we go, you dont have to like what I say and may - TopicsExpress

Well, here we go, you dont have to like what I say and may unfriend me which is ok too, anyway here it goes......Recently I found out that the possibility of Sunday beer sales is to be put on the agenda for the monthly city meeting coming up. Friends, I know what drinking is, I have drank gallons of it, I stopped many years ago when I found out family was more important than drinking, now I might have one beer on occasion at a reunion or cook out, but that probably adds up to three per year, I think its safe to say...I dont drink. I believe everybody that wants to drink has that right and I dont judge them for how much or how often they want to drink beer. I was raised in a house with a father that cared more for drinking beer than family, he had a problem that he couldnt shake or much wanted too, nothing or nobody could stop him once he got started, it took a bullet thru his head to cure it....Period. Most people that enjoy beer do not have that problem and are great, upstanding citizens, the very ones that put politicians in office. Plain ole good folk....I would like to see as many of these good folk, drinkers or not, to fill the seats at the next City Meeting and stand with all of us who do NOT want Sunday beer sales. I mean it doesnt take rocket scientist to know you can buy enough beer Monday-Saturday to surely last thru one day of no beer sales on Sunday. Many people do not know this is going to be brought up on the agenda and those opposed should call and voice your opinion or show up at meeting and tell them not to blacken the eye of Selmer, a town I love, with beer sales on the day that most believe is a day of worship and fellowship with others. I know I probably will lose friends because I speak against Sunday beer sales...so be it, I aint running no kindergarten class anyway. Search your heart for what you believe is right and voice your opinion. A free mind is the most powerful weapon against injustice. In my opinion Sunday beer sales in Selmer is an injustice to each citizen who wants Selmer to shine above other cities. It should not be about tax money, it should be about standing up for principles of whats right. SUNDAY BEER SALES = ANOTHER CITY THAT JUST DONT CARE.
