The winds should not reach blizzard criteria across the Upper Midwest. - Other then a few snow showers around the Great Lakes and a few showers in western Kansas, the region will be dry Saturday with highs from near 30 degrees in Upper Michigan to the upper 50s and 60s in the central Plains. - Showers could dot the central Plains, northern Plains and Upper Midwest Sunday, mixing with snow from North Dakota to Upper Michigan. - Rain will target Missouri, the Ohio Valley and Lower Michigan Monday, possibly mixing with snow late in central and southern Michigan. Parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama could see 1 to 3 inches of rain. A few severe thunderstorms are possible near and inland from the northern Gulf Coast. - Rain and thunderstorms target the Southeast Monday with some 1-to-2-inch rainfall and a few severe storms. - Rain could linger from the coastal Carolinas to Florida Tuesday while an upper-level disturbance causes showers to develop from Oklahoma and the Red River Valley, through the lower Mississippi Valley, into the southern Appalachians and Alabama. Much colder air will plunge into the lower Mississippi Valley and Southeast. Northeast | View Regional Video - High pressure keeps Upstate New York and New England dry through most of Thursday. - Showers diminish and mostly end by tonight across the Mid-Atlantic in the vicinity of the east-west warm front over the Virginias. - Thursday, a new round of rain will spread eastward across southern Upstate New York and the Mid-Atlantic. Some thunderstorms are possible across West Virginia and western Virginia. Southern Virginia has the best chance of staying dry for much of the day. - Rain and thunderstorms move through the region Friday and Friday night. A few severe thunderstorms are possible in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. - The rain will be slow to exit eastern New England Saturday. A few spits of rain and snow are possible east of the Great Lakes. On the whole though, most of the region clears out and turns cooler. - After a dry Sunday, a new storm from out of the South spreads a soaking rain across the Mid-Atlantic and southern New York Monday. The rain continues northward across New York and New England Monday night, possibly mixing with snow near the Canadian border. - Showers could linger especially across Upstate New York and New England Tuesday, possibly mixing with snow in the mountains.
