Well, is my face red! However I could have missed the name of Edward G. Robinson last evening in scanning the iMDB list of Dec. 12 birthdays in advance I will never know. I guess I was tired. While I am not changing my intent of placing more emphasis on non-Hollywood 30s films and artists in own posts for the next month or so, this rule will not apply to others here. Eddie Robinson, needless to say, is an actor I have always admired and consider one of the most powerful performers in the history of cinema. Many of his films rank among my favorites. He worked with two of the actresses I interviewed for my book, At the Center of the Frame, in major film classics. So I will naturally post some photos for him. However, because I am constantly being threatened here now, I will not be permitted to discuss some of the things that happened to him and nearly derailed his career. Im sure some of you know what I mean. If you want to mention it, feel free to do so.
