Well.......... it appears it had been over a couple weeks since my last entry in this group page! Here it is another awesome day - How are you fb? I read a piece of literature from Dr. Charles Stanley about wandering from God. He cited Psalm 119: 33-40. Many of you may remember this one; here the psalmist wrote -Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end. Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. (((THOSE WHO HAVE EAR - LET EM HEAR))) ...Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. Takke away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life. Wandering away from God. Wandering away from mom. Wandering away from chores. Wandering away from the supervisor. Some things are not simple, some things require attentiveness and commitment. Assembling a toy or putting a bookshelf or bicycle together doesnt always turn out easy as the instruction manual claim. Its not as simple and it can be frustrating and the same can be said of the bible; 66 books to read and apply into your life. My story is: My life got so hairy (...N you say How hairy is it?!!!) So hairy it was hopeless, there was no future in it, there was no holding on to what was once valuable I even considered the thought of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control... (rule that out of your mind cuz there was really NOTHIN to hope for!!!). But in the midst of all that turmoil: There was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The rest is history for me but I press on and share the testimony I have in Jesus, here on My Journey Diary. Without loosing sight of wandering from God, what is it that we want for our life? to glorify God? to be free from worry and fear? to live the abundant life? If your answer is yes, then, our priority needs to be; drawing closer to God. The instruction book to assemble things are given and so now to, as in the south they say git er done, we must commit to follow the steps. Gods Word -- the bible -- might be viewed in a similar way but insufficient time, interruption that distract you or maybe it seem more training is needed to understand divine truth. Any of these could cause us to veer away from scripture. When we veer off and away from Gods Word we soon wander from God and His ways. Search and ye shall find! Have A Blessed Day. [
